I have had a love for photography since about age 12, when my dad gave me his old SLR. I've been learning about photography on my own ever since, and enjoy the challenge of learning new techniques. When I truly discovered and began to appreciate the great outdoors years later, my passion for photography, especially nature photography, increased greatly.
My goal is to capture nature at its most beautiful, be it a majestic landscape or a close-up of a flower. I also photographed a great number of the courthouses in my home state of Kansas. This was an exciting project, as I went to many places which I normally wouldn't have visited. Now that I reside in Colorado, I hope to start photographing courthouses here as well. Old barns, ghost towns and other abandoned structures are also a favorite photographic subject of mine.
I have won numerous awards at local photography contests, and two of my photos,
Rocky Mountain Fog and
Faux Falls Sunset, were featured on
Outdoor Photographer's "Your Favorite Places" web gallery. I also have been awarded "Editor's Pick" awards from Nature Photographers Network for my
Onondaga Cave photo and several others. I have also been published in Kansas! Magazine several times. Additionally, one small photo of mine was featured in the 2012 Colorado National Monument calendar, and three small photos were included in the 2013 calendar, which is one of the fundraising items for the Colorado National Monument Association.
Please take time to browse my galleries. All images are available as prints in varying sizes or as photo notecards, or you may contact me regarding licensed use. Please contact me directly at:
